WHO ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION?

You have already heard about the Daughters of the American Revolution or DAR. Have you also heard about a similar lineage society for men called the Sons of the American Revolution or SAR? Out of these two lineage Societies formed in the early 1890s, arose a similar organization for their children called the National Society, Children of the American Revolution or C. A. R..

Our youth from infancy to age 21 can enjoy the membership benefits of the National Society Children of the American Revolution. Across our nation, local Societies of C. A. R. are active in projects on historic preservation, education, and patriotic endeavors, just as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) are. This forges a wonderful opportunity for families to pursue common interests centered around established programs of C. A. R, SAR and DAR. Precious family time together is enriched with guided activities, building character and an experience base for our youngsters.

Lineage requirements for membership in C. A. R. are the same as for DAR or SAR membership; therefore, once you become a member of DAR, your children's lineage research has been completed. Your application paperwork will provide all the information needed for your child, except for their birth certificate showing you as the mother.

We urge you to enroll your children in C. A. R. today to enjoy a more rewarding tomorrow. A complete listing of local Societies can be found on the National Society Children of the Revolution website.
